Week 3 Post-”Separation Saturday” Top 15

Co-Number Two:

  • Auburn
  • Ohio State
      • 3. USC
      • 4. Louisville
      • 5. West Virginia
      • 6. Florida
      • 7. Texas
      • 8. Michigan
      • 9. LSU
      • 10. Iowa
      • 11. Georgia
      • 12. Notre Dame
      • 13. Oregon
      • 14. Virginia Tech
      • 15. Arizona State

      Observations:

      • Auburn and Ohio State might as well be co-Number-Ones, but any way I can stick it to that pathetic cheating-laden shithole I’m gonna take it. I’ll leave it to you to decide which school I’m talking about.
      • I hate to say it, but I have a feeling we’re going to be seeing USC in the national title game again. The thought of which undoubtedly gives Mark May an erection.
      • I really, really wanted to put LSU ahead of Michigan, but I’m gonna let the Wolverines enjoy their stay at #8 before their inevitable collapse and another 4-loss season.
      • Unlike Doug, I put Georgia ahead of Notre Dame. While UGA hasn’t been spectacular offensively and hasn’t played the same caliber of teams as the Irish, Georgia gets the nod because Stafford’s INT’s haven’t killed his team’s chances the way Brady Quinn’s did.
      • Florida and West Virginia are both undefeated, but in my opinion LSU and Texas have looked better. Everywhere except their records, anyway.

      Get well soon, David.

Stafford’s picks may not have killed his team like Brady Quinn’s, but consider that South Carolina isn’t nearly as equipped to take advantage of those turnovers as Michigan is. Sorry if I seem like I’m being passive-aggressive and withholding affection w/r/t the Dawgs, but the SC game is looking like less and less of a meaningful yardstick with each passing week, and it’s also starting to look like we’re not going to get an actual test from anybody until Tennessee. Still, if we can beat them, and I think we can, that’ll be a huge step.
