Barry:

I wasn't trying to make my own point. So if you need to levy a hyperbolic accusation of "weakest argument I've ever read on the blogosphere", direct it towards the Mises Blog, not me.

That said, the views of Obama’s father matter greatly when he writes an entire book specifically about organizing his life around his father’s ideals, but conveniently leaves out many of the more socialist, communist-lite political concepts and beliefs his father possessed. And that isn’t an idealized father, that’s a geniune, flesh-and-blood one.

I never really consider one’s family tree when voting for/supporting a particular candidate, but if said candidate is going to put that family tree in print for public consumption, he or she would do well not to gloss it over.

Thanks for visiting.

DAve;

Actually, very few of your points stand.

What do the views of Obama's father (a man who abandoned his family when BHO was a child) have to do with anything? BHO talks about his idealized father, not the political views of his actual father.

You can't possibly make the case that BHO was indoctrinated with the political views of the man who abandoned him.

As a UGA fan, you're a man of intellect and taste. Don't blow it with one of the weakest arguments I've ever read on the blogosphere.

Whatever. Point still stands even if he wasn't on Mt. Rushmore.

the liberal cripple didn't make it to Mt. Rushmore...that's the other Roosevelt (the bad ass one who got shot and then gave an hour long speech before receiving medical attention, busted up corporate monopolies and trusts, and showed Al Gore what a true environmentalist does). but, yes, good point.
