Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved. – William Jennings Bryant

And So It Begins.
Friday, August 29th, 2008Around The Dawgosphere
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008See, it’s called Dawgosphere because it’s blogs about the Dawgs! See?? Get it??
OMG the College Football season starts in earnest in less than 48 hours. I for one can. not. wait. Tent City has all her preparations all lined up for another stellar tailgating season and we might be on the verge of witnessing a very special season for the Dawgs. Seriously, I can’t wait.
Anyway, here’s some tidbits from the (ha! Get it?) Dawgosphere:
- Mackalicious at Blogging Pantsless has kick-started a new video series, Great Moments In Georgia History. The first episode looks back at Jim Donnan’s first victory as Georgia’s head coach, the 15-12 win over Texas Tech. Get over there and check it out.
- PWD caught up with radio announcer Scott Howard to talk about Munson and the upcoming season.
- Doug needs tickets to the Georgia Southern game. Help a brother out.
- Ludakit at the (Original) Dawg-Gone Blog drops this week’s List: Five Things I Expect to See (and Five Things I Expect Not to See) Out of This Year’s Team. I’m big on #6 and #2.
- Lastly, UGAMummra is to UGA Youtube video compilations what LSUFreek is to animated Photoshopped goodness. His latest vid is Mission: Possible. Watch. Tackle coworker. Rinse. Repeat.
48 freakin’ hours. Woooooooooooooooo!
Podcast #1 Comments and Corrections
Monday, August 25th, 2008By now you’ve undoubtedly listened to the first podcast of the season at least three, maybe four times in order to assure yourself that you’ve caught every word, every tidbit, every nugget of valuable SEC information (if you haven’t yet why not?).
However, I would be remiss to note a few things here that were left out or just plain wrong so here’s Podcast #1’s Comments and Corrections…
PODCASTIN’!
Saturday, August 23rd, 2008The first (and hopefully not last) podcast of my online life is now up. In this edition Tim, Meimi, Scott and I discuss several critical elements of the upcoming season in the SEC, including the top four QB’s in the conference (Stafford, Tebow, and uh… um…) and the coach you’d recruit for a game of Cornhole.
Dawg Wordles
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008Well the wordles of popular songs thing went so well that Ally over at The Road To Copacetic and Mackalicious at Blogging Pantsless got into the act. (Thanks for the h/t, Ally!)
In honor of these two fine and distinguished Dawgs, I present Munson. Wordled. I think I’m going to frame these. Seriously.
There’s just something so visually cool about these… I think because they remind me of all the awesome stuff Saul Bass did, for example:
So, so cool, man.

Robocop, Wilt Thou Ne’er Be Cranked Again?
Tuesday, June 17th, 2008Josh at Martians Attacking Indianapolis has broken THE big story of this football offseason, via a source who requested she (or maybe he, maybe. You don’t know.) remain anonymous.

While recent injuries and our brutal schedule leave much uncertainty for this season, one thing is for certain…
We won’t be seeing any of this next year:

A Reason For A Little Chestpufferation
Monday, December 24th, 2007I’m not what you might call a genius when it comes to sports prognosticating (I’m the guy, after all, who was certain Ryan Leaf would have a better pro career than Peyton Manning), so any time I have the opportunity to talk myself up when I am successful, rest assured I will.
And so it was the case last night. I’m in a bowl pick ‘em pool with 10 other people and I was the only one to pick Skip Holtz’s East Carolina Pirates to upset last year’s BCS-buster-movie-material-darlings Boise State in the Hawaii Bowl, and sure enough, the Pirates prevailed.
Even more delightful is the fact that a whopping 97.6% of College Bowl Mania players over at ESPN.com picked Boise State to win also. So at least for one night, I was smarter than almost 98% of all college football fans out there. I leave it up to you whether that’s saying much or not.
I also bring this all up as it gives me the chance to post this picture for the second time in a row:
