As mentioned prior, I, along with Maya, Kevin, and Mike, will be going to see Radiohead this Thursday night at Lakewood Amphitheatre.
I tried my best to refrain from seeking out the setlist from the first show of the U.S. leg of the tour which was last night in W. Palm Beach, but that lasted all of no time at all. Not surprisingly (and I don’t think this would be a spoiler), a large majority of the setlist was from “In Rainbows”. Which is great and all - but I was thinking: If I could do my dream setlist for the band (and actually restrict it and not just say, “Play every song from every album”), what would it be? I decided to pick 23 songs as that’s how many they played last night (!!) in West Palm. Anyone care to chime in? Additions? Subtractions?
This year’s Derby Day was fun despite the smaller-than-usual group and threat of cruddy weather. The rain moved out early and we did manage to get some sun before the night came and cooled things off.
This year’s biggest sponsor was Bulleit Bourbon, who set up a huge area in the sponsor tent complete with free bourbon drinks, leather couches, and coffee tables. (Big ups to Jamie at 94.9 The Bull for the sponsor passes! Thanks, Jame!)
But it’s not like we won’t have some memories, fellow Dawgs.
We’ll always have the hobnail boot…
… Butler kicking it a mile…
… Herschel running over people…
… Greene to Johnson…
… and Sugar falling from the sky…
… but for me, personally, Munson’s best call came on July 14, 2007. You’ll know why at the 2:20 mark…
… I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or form-tackle the blue-hair at Table 7. So forgive me if I say that’s the greatest call Munson ever made, but maybe one day he’ll speak your name, and then you’ll understand.
Josh gets the hero-of-the-day award for shirking any and all dignity and pride and taking on the chipping contest right-handed and wearing a ridiculous hat. Ridiculous on him, I mean.
We were entertained by one guy’s horribly fantastic or fantastically horrible dancing.
Scott, on the other hand, knows how to do it. I guess.
Me n’ Scott n’ Meimi n’ Josh n’ Maya hit up this cool junk sale last Saturday; the woman who owns all this stuff used to run a prop supply company so a lot of the stuff was actual props used in such blockbusters as Robocop 3. I found a couple of cool photos and random knick-knacks - enough to make me want to go back this weekend and look around some more.
I’ve started a Flickr set of Junk Sale Photos, beginning with the ones I grabbed Saturday. Check em’ out, leave me a comment or two, compliment my exceptional scanning ability, whatever. Hopefully I’ll be able to find more of these in the daysmonthsyears ahead.
This is just a blog by a guy named DAve who likes the Dawgs, college football, golf, music, a good bourbon, photos, design, Austrian economics, yadda, yadda, yadda. More?
Powered by WordPress and Qwilm! theme. I took this theme and tweaked it to my liking. Big ups to Twitter, Flickr, HypeMachine, Piknik, YouTube, and all the plugin and widget designers that helped make this site what it is (which isn't much).
