That's it...

I have now seen it all:

I don't think this is what Martin Luther King had in mind...

I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day despisers of the sub-Saharan African races and brutal beaters of children will one day join together in the spirit of brotherhood...

That didn't take long

I've had this blog officially up and running for less than a week and already people are complaining. Look: if you're not in any of the pictures in my photo gallery, I'm sorry. When you've got 349,636 friends who love and adore you it's tough to make sure they're all well represented.

Take my friend Emily, for example. She's a good girl; intelligent, funny, attractive. But apparently I just have some nerve for not having any pictures of her on my site. Jeez, girl, it's not like I killed the Pope or something. Cut me some slack.

Anyway, fortunately I remembered an e-mail she sent me a while back. She was ecstatic about finally getting the job of her dreams and wanted to let me know. And lo and behold, she did in fact send some pictures with the e-mail.

So here you go, Emily... HAPPY NOW??

Dearest wonderful Dave:

First off thanks again for the great time I had with you last time I was in town. ;)
I've got some great news!! Of course, being as kewl as me my life is full of great news LOL but anyways...

I got a job!! You can't imagine how long I've been waiting for this opportunity to come along! I work with like the coolest people in the world (and sometimes get free lunch!! :) ROTFLMAO!!)! It rocks!

Anyways, here's some pics of your's cooly (get it? It's like "your's truly" except it's COOLY!! LOL).

See ya sweety!!!

Em

Here's me calling my mom after the interview when I got the job! She was ekstatic!
And here's me on my first day! Isn't he cute?? I thought he might be flirting with me! Tee-hee LOL!

Anyways, I hope you're still as cool as ever (like as if you wouldn't be! :) :) ) and hope to hook up - I mean see you again real soon!

Stay sexy,

Em

Until next time,

It blows my mind

I just don't get people sometimes. I'm here at work, taking the elevator from the 8th level of the parking deck to the lobby. I press the "Lobby" button. Four floors down a guy gets on with a roll of what looks like architectural plans in one hand and a heavy attache' case in the other. And what does he do? Even though I've already hit the button for the lobby and it's still glowing bright orange signifying that yes, it has been pressed and yes, the elevator will be stopping at the lobby, the guy puts his case down and presses the Lobby button. Three times. As if that will somehow make the elevator drop at a higher rate of speed or something.

I'm not sure which is worse: the fact this guy would do that or the fact that it annoys the crap out of me.

Blows my mind.

Beat The Cocks

I'm off to Athens in the morning for an intimate get-together with 92,000+ of my closest friends. South Carolina makes me nervous. To paraphrase Larry Munson, we haven't scored a touchdown against these guys in 22 years.
Bourbon's on the menu for breakfast. I plan on taking some pictures and maybe getting some video as well.

GATA you Hairy Dawgs!

Farewell, Johnny

I knew this day would come. Mortality is something man will never overcome, even if that man is Johnny Cash.
I've been a fan of Johnny's for many years now, and I think it's testament to his music, his voice and his soul that his popularity has maintained itself for half a century. When I first began learning to play guitar, "Folsom Prison Blues" was one of the first songs I learned. I've always been a bit of an elitist when it comes to country music; the poppy stuff that's popular today just doesn't cut it because it lacks heart. Johnny Cash's music (and his life) was never polished, dumbed-down, synthetic. He never made excuses for the addiction that nearly killed him years ago. A straight-shooter, that Johnny Cash.
When I found out this morning that he passed, I knew immediately why: he simply couldn't go on without his June by his side. I know this because it's for this reason my grandfather passed a couple of years ago. He lost his wife and suffered for three months... then decided he was done suffering. Johnny and Pa-Pa didn't die of anything found in a medical dictionary; they died of hearts irreparably broken.
I think today, for the first time in God-knows-how-long, The Man In Black is wearing perfect, pure, glorious white. And he's happy.
