Aliens Cause Global Warming

A fantastic speech given by Michael Crichton outlining the inherent dangers of so-called "consensus science". A must-read for anyone who wants to defend the US's decision not to ratify the Kyoto Treaty and for anyone who thinks the US should have ratified the Kyoto Treaty. Also for those who don't care about the Kyoto Treaty but... aw screw it, just go read it.

UPDATE: Crichton's new book tackles same.

Happy Fargin' Holidays

I've had a couple people ask me recently why I haven't updated my website with anything substantial in quite a while. Duuuh, people, look at the header up there! See? It's holiday-themed! Isn't that enough?

OK, no, it isn't.

Truth is, this holiday season has been far from spectacular. Somewhere around two weeks ago a metaphorical LazyBomb 5000 was detonated right over my head and the subsequent radiation has melted my brain and left me couch-ridden. I'm not really sure why this has happened, but for the first time in a long time I wish I could fast-forward to January 2nd or so and continue on from there.

Alas, that's not to be. It's unfortunate the holidays this year have stressed me out so much, and it's frustrating I can't really deduce why. I still have some Christmas shopping to do, but I've procrastinated on that before.

Oh well, it'll all be over soon enough, I guess. Then I can move on to being upset at myself for not enjoying it more.

A few things before I go:

  • You can't really understand the true meaning of Exceptionally Cute until you've hand-fed an otter.
  • I never thought I'd live to see the day an SEC football team runs the table undefeated (conference championship game and all) and doesn't get the opportunity to play for the national title.
  • I can't wait until the 9th Annual Massey Christmas Party.
  • I can't wait to sleep until 1 or 2 PM the day after the 9th Annual Massey Christmas Party.
  • I hope everyone's holiday dreams and wishes come true, unless said dreams and wishes involve me being buried alive, set on fire, or both.
