"Michael Moore Can Eat My Used Maxipads"

This woman doesn't like Michael Moore.

I think.

Ladies and gents, I give you...

The Worst. Name. Ever.

Worse even than the WNBA's Ivana Mandic.

Ch-ch-ch-changeeeessss...

Fare-thee-well, Media section. Toodle-oo, Daily Photo. Peace out, Guestbook. Sorry guys, but frankly you're all irrelevant. It's not your fault, mind you; it's just that... well, ok, you're irrelevant. Why post video/audio in one section, a photo I like in another? Why not just post 'em all on the main page? So that's what I'm a'doin' - site redesign coming up as well... hopefully.

Here's the three posts from the Media section repeated so they'll be preserved for history... is that a good thing?

Off Tha Heezy (9/12/2003)

Long before OutKast, Ludacris, Goodie Mob, and Jumaine Dupri were defining the A.T.L. hip-hop sound, my homeboy Croz and I were laying fat beats and topping them off with tha smoothest rhymes on the street. Didn't matter that we were both 12-year-old suburban white boys, oh no. We were DOPE. So here, for the first time ever, are two cuts from tha crew that would forever be known as Dave and Ben (NWA was already taken):

(Files are in .wma format only at the moment. Make sure your player of choice can play these files. Shouldn't be a problem for all you Windows folks, might require a little more effort for you Mac Daddies out there.

Cheapo Rap (.wma, 64kbps, 1906 kb)
Ben's Smoove Flow (.wma, 64kbps, 1415 kb)

UGA v. USC Tailgating Videos (9/21/2003)

Here's a couple cool videos my buddy Scott put together of our tailgating experience in Athens before we killed the 'Cocks.

Video 2

Yes, I was cool eleven years ago too

Ah... 1993. A time of innocence. A time of carefree jocularity. A time of great hairstyles. God, I miss the high-right, low-left...

Anyway, here in Atlanta we used to have a Saturday morning show called "Campus Live" that focused mainly on the metro high school student demographic. Every week we were treated to inspiring stories of the one-legged wrestler from Shamrock or the valedictorian from Chamblee. For part of Campus Live's year-end show in 1992 the lovely Angie ventured out to Northlake Mall to gather kids' New Year's Resolutions. And I'll give you three guesses who was there that day... yep. Me. I'm not big on New Year's Resolutions (why mess with perfection?), but when the camera's rolling sometimes you just gotta lie (and pose) to give the viewers what they want: extreme dorkitude. I did not disappoint.

I could've edited this video down to just the scene with me, but I thought that the fashions and hair of those before and after me were too cool to pass up. Plus, I wanted everyone to understand what I mean when I say this: Jacob Lewis from Tucker High has taken true comedy to a level never seen before.

So without further ado here's the Campus Live Resolutions 1993 Video featuring me, Dave Akins.

File is only in .wmv format and is about 2:30 long. One day I'll be able to afford a good converter so you can watch it in other formats. Obviously that day hasn't come since the vid has "unregistered" in the corner.

Break Out the Bubbly!

If you have the hots for the Olsen twins, you're no longer a total perv. You're at least much less of one.

I've got a couple of friends I'm going to have to keep more of an eye on now. Not to name names or anything.

*coughJustinandDenniscough*

The link for this doesn't work anymore... so I removed it. But yeah, they're 18 now, so eh... woo hoo.

It Could Be Worse

Every time I start feeling crappy about one thing or another (this week it's a slight head cold accompanied by some wonderfully colored phlegm discharges), I turn to the 'net and find something that makes me step back and say, "Y'know, my life ain't THAT bad. It could be worse. I could have gone to visit my son and found his wife stuffed in the refrigerator."

It was a great weekend...

My buddy Mike checked in with an audio post at Amy's Memorial Day party (pics to follow) - listen over here at AudioDave.

I've actually done about 5 audio posts but apparently they don't save unless you hit the pound key when you're done. So you guys have really missed something... my apologies.
